My name is Sammy Dorris. I live in Greenbrier, TN. I have been racing for three years. Ballance Motocross in Oakland, KY is my favorite Kentucky track. My favorite tracks outside of Kentucky is Podium One in Indiana and Mill Creek MX in Alabama. My favorite amateur national track is located in my home state, Loretta Lynn's at Hurricane Mills, TN. Ryan Villopoto is my favorite Pro Rider and Ben LaMay is my favorite amateur rider.
This is my first year in college. I am a Freshman at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY. English is my favorite college course.
In 2008, I hope to make it again to Loretta Lynn's and I plan on racing the Mega Series, the Southern All-Star Series (SAS), the KY Bluegrass Series. I hope to finish in the top 5 in those races. In 2007, my best motocross moment was making it to the Loretta Lynn's Amateur Nationals in Hurricane Mills, TN. My worst motocross moment was breaking two ribs and having a partially collapsed lung. To me, the best thing about being a rider is going to the track and meeting people. I ride as often as possible, lift weights and exercise but the hardest thing about being a rider for me is the training that it takes to be competitive. My grandpa inspires me the most because he also tells me to never quit trying.
